Department Profile

Police protection for the Borough of Carnegie is provided by the Carnegie Police Department, which also provides protection for Pennsbury Borough. The combined population for the two communities is slightly over 10,000 people. The Carnegie Police Department is under the direction of Mayor James L. Pascoe and Chief Jeffrey C. Harbin, and currently consists of 13 officers, including a full-time Detective. All officers are certified through the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission, and receive extensive yearly in-service training. Additionally, the Carnegie Police Department has 2 graduates of the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The Carnegie Police Department is committed to a "Community Policing" philosophy and takes great pride in community involvement and education.
